By the time Tesla released their live show "Five Man Acoustical Jam" they had two great albums behind them that had had a great impact such as the superb debut "Mechanical Resonance" (1986), a work full of the sounds of spectacular guitars and "The Great Controversy" (1989) where the maturity of the group is evident, competing at that time with the Guns´n´Roses with that revival of the hard rock spirit of the seventies.
These first two albums were of such great media impact that they decided to publish a live show with their classics in acoustic versions, "Five Man Acoustical Jam" recorded in the city of Philadelphia, when they acted as opening act for the Mötley Crüe on their promotional tour of the album Dr. Feelgood.
In this live, in addition to including their own material, they also dare with some versions such as the Grateful Dead "Truckin", "We Can Work It Out" by The Beatles, "Lodi" by the eternal Creedence Clearwater Revival, "Mother's Little Helper" by the Rolling Stones or the hippie anthem "Signs" by the Five Man Electrical Band.
