Roger Hodgson's 1984 departure from Supertramp was the ideal moment for the other historical leader of the band Rick Davies to take the reins of the group without anyone arguing with him.
A year after that event, "Brother Where You Bound" was published, an album that showed a much greater waste of energy than had appeared on his previous album "Famous Last Words".
Although it was looked down upon by fans and criticized in comparison to Hodgson's solo album "In The Eye of the Storm" released around the same time, the truth is that this is undoubtedly a memorable work where Davis shows his talent when it comes to composing progressive songs such as the exciting suite "Brother Where You Bound" in which David Gilmour collaborates, who is in charge of the guitar solos, or the spectacular and tremendously addictive "Cannonball".
This would be the last great Supertramp album, after here the band would publish a series of interesting albums but many more heterogeneous and predictable, without much interest for the general public.
