Phil Collins-But Seriously (1989)

In the 80's Phil Collins was immersed in multiple projects that ended up going ahead with a triumphant success, so in 1986 after his tour of the album "No Jacket Required", he entered the studio to record the successful "Invisible Touch" with his band Genesis, after the world tour to support this album, would enter the TV screen to act in series like "Miami Vice", or in the cinema with movies like "Buster", in addition to composing the theme for said film "Groovy Kind Of Love", with which he would get another number one worldwide.
In 1989 he would record his album "But Seriously", which for many is his masterpiece, and for which he would reign the charts that year.
From the initial and partying "Hang In Long Enough", to the glorious and epic "Find A Way to My Heart", Collins would manage to stay on the cusp of Pop Rock indisputably.
The rest of the album is simply masterful with songs that have passed into his classic repertoire such as the addictive "Something Happened On The Way to Heaven", the complex "Colors", the epic "I Wish It Would Rain" with an immeasurable Eric Clapton to the guitar, the iconic "Another Day in Paradise" or the progressive "Saturday Night and Sunday Morning".
The album became his second best-selling album with more than 8 million copies around the world.

Phil Collins-No Jacket Required (1985)

In the mid 80's Phil Collins was immersed in different projects, including the tour of the Genesis album "Genesis", his collaboration on different soundtracks such as "Against All Odds" or in the recording of his third album "No Jacket. Required".
This album, published in 1985, is the definitive accolade to his solo career, not only because of the album's compositions, but also because of his charismatic voice and his self-confidence on stage (already demonstrated as the frontman of Genesis).
Here Collins shows mastery of the facets of pop, from the brilliant ballads like "One More Night", to the melodic and powerful songs like "Sussudio" or "Don´t Lose My Number".
The album also contains other stellar moments with the exotic "Long Long Way to Go", the frenzied "Only You Know and I Know" or the emotional epic "Take me Home".
The album was a runaway success with millions of records sold and in part this success was what would help two years later Genesis' album "Invisible Touch" have an unprecedented success similar to this one.

Phil Collins-Face Value (1981)

Genesis had finally achieved a number one in 1980 thanks to his album "Duke", a work that was distanced in part from the progressive rock of yesteryear and that would undoubtedly be the seed of what Phil Collins would do alone later.
A year after the publication of this album, Collins was released solo with the album "Face Value" which showed the paths where his mother band would also follow.
Here Collins opts for a sophisticated pop-oriented commercial sound while still looking at what Peter Gabriel had done on his first three solo albums.
Face Value is a forceful and powerful album at times, like the initial one and already become a pop classic "In The Air Tonight", the instrumental "Hand in Hand" or the delicate ballad "This Must Be love", without stopping mention the progressive converted into a soul jazz version "Behind the Lines" or the magnificent version of The Beatles "Tomorrow Never Knows" that make this debut a sensational work of pop rock.
