The Rolling Stones-Undercover (1983)

For much of the 1980s, The Rolling Stones attempted to absorb the prevailing sounds of the time, a fact clearly demonstrated on their seventeenth album, "Undercover", released in 1983. Considered one of their most diverse albums, the band, led by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, delved into a multitude of experiments, including new wave, funk, reggae, and soul, without entirely losing their own identity. Given this disparity of sounds and styles, it was harshly criticized by the music press and a large segment of their most devoted fans, making it one of their most controversial albums. Among this collection of songs stripped of their usual carefree rock and roll, the energetic and addictive tracks "Undercover of the Night", "She Was Hot", "Tie You Up (The Pain of Love)", and "All the Way Down" stand out. The general discontent of the fans only earned it a fourth place in the North American charts, but nevertheless it achieved sales that far exceeded one million copies around the world.

The Rolling Stones-Tattoo You (1981)

In 1981, the band led by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards released their sixteenth album, "Tattoo You" (their eighteenth in the American market). It was composed of unfinished tracks discarded from previous albums, given a precise reinterpretation for this release. Besides Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, the rest of the lineup remained the same as in recent years: Ron Wood, Mick Taylor, Bill Wyman, and Charlie Watts, along with guest appearances from Billy Preston, Nicky Hopkins, Ian Stewart, Pete Townshend, and Wayne Perkins, among others. The repertoire included here departs from the eclectic styles of their latest albums, maintaining a musical foundation rooted in the most organic and robust sounds of rock and roll, beginning with one of the band's anthems, the infectious "Start Me Up". The rest of the album showcases an effective collection of catchy, rhythmic songs like "Hang Fire", "Little T&A", and "Neighbours", nods to 80s sounds in "Heaven" and "Worried About You", vintage blues in "Black Limousine", and dusty, nostalgic tunes like "Waiting on a Friend". Despite being composed of songs that would have been considered dispensable in previous years, "Tattoo You" would go on to sell over eight million copies worldwide.

The Rolling Stones-Flashpoint (1991)

In 1989 The Rolling Stones released the album "Steel Wheels" the first with Virgin Records, after having concluded their contract with CBS, during the following months the band would embark on the world tour "Steel Wheels / Urban Jungle Tour" of which different concerts were recorded and some takes were recorded that were included in the fifth live album of the group "Flashpoint" published in 1991.
Unlike his previous live releases, this one has several tracks under study, the early nineties "Highwire" and "Sex Drive", it also contains tracks that were not used to be part of his regular live repertoire such as "Little Red Rooster" or "Factory Girl".
The rest of the repertoire is made up of an impressive set list of classics of the band such as "Satisfaction", "Paint it Black", "Sympathy for the Devil", "Brown Sugar", "Jumpin´Jack Flash" or "Miss You".

The Rolling Stones-Beggars Banquet (1968)

The Rolling Stones are together with The Beatles and Led Zeppelin the greatest rock bands of all time, they took a chair as blues evolved into rock.
With some of the most memorable moments in rock history, they have been characterized as one of the symbols of the genre for almost six decades.
One of those memorable moments was when they released their album "Beggars Banquet" in 1968, one of rock's masterpieces, where they began to forget about the experimentation and psychedelia of previous albums to return to their blues roots, composing an essential album to understand and enjoy the evolution of an authentic rock band with blues roots.
An album with a superb collection of great songs like the eternal "Sympathy For The Devil" and "Street Fighting Man", two already historical and jewels of music, which are only part of a great album as creative as it is overwhelming.

The Rolling Stones-Exile On Main St (1972)

In the early seventies, The Rolling Stones had moved to France, fleeing the oppressive British tax system, and it was there, on French soil, that they began preparing their new album, which would be the tenth of their career. However, their time in France would not be a bed of roses for the group. To begin with, the drug addictions of some of its members, mainly Jagger and Richards, the disastrous location chosen for the album's recording a mansion near Cannes where Keith Richards and his family usually resided, which had a murky past as a Gestapo headquarters during World War II in addition to the chaotic recording sessions, all led to controversial and marathon weeks of total chaos and unprecedented mayhem. During those sessions, everything became frenetic, from the inadequate electrical installation for the powerful and sophisticated studio equipment, to the constant coming and going of countless friends and acquaintances of the band (including drug dealers), not to mention the large recording crew. On top of all this, there were the frequent recording interruptions due to the frequent absences of some of the band members who left for personal matters. This disarray resulted in tremendous chaos that somehow ended up being incorporated into the final sound of the album, which received a barrage of criticism from the specialized press upon its release. This hostile reception would eventually become the band's masterpiece, considered one of the greatest contributions to rock music. 

On this album, the band explored diverse musical territories like never before, including jazz, soul, gospel, country, blues, and rockabilly, with numerous instrumental jam sessions. Among the highlights were a series of brilliant songs such as the commercially successful "Tumbling Dice", the rocker "Rip This Joint", the country anthem "Torn and Frayed", the gritty "Ventilator Blues", the rock and roll number "Shake Your Hips", and the incredibly addictive and very Stones-esque "All Down the Line" and "Rocks Off". For many, this was the last great work of The Rolling Stones, even though their dozen subsequent releases were many excellent albums, but none possessed the variety, the frenetic energy, and the somewhat unbridled genius born from the haphazard recording of this legendary "Exile on Main St".

The Rolling Stones-Black And Blue (1976)

In 1974, The Rolling Stones released their twelfth album, "It's Only Rock 'n' Roll", which marked the departure of their guitarist, Mick Taylor. This led Mick Jagger and Keith Richards to search for an ideal replacement to face the band's future. For some time, the names of Rory Gallagher, Jeff Beck, and Peter Frampton were rumored, but they declined the offer. Others, such as Harvey Mandel and Wayne Perkins, were also among the nominees, but the position ultimately went to Ron Wood. Ron Wood was still with The Faces at the time and, as such, could only collaborate as a guest musician on the Rolling Stones' next album, "Black and Blue", released in mid-1976. Therefore, the band's official lineup at that time consisted of Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts, and Bill Wyman, while Ron Wood appeared as a guest musician. The lineup also included Billy Preston, Nicky Hopkins, Ian Stewart, and the aforementioned Harvey Mandel and Wayne Perkins. "Black and Blue" was recorded in various studios in Munich, New York, and Florida, produced by Jagger and Richards themselves, along with other producers including Glyn Johns. This new release features a repertoire somewhat removed from the Rolling Stones' usual and unmistakable rock and roll, with a collection of diverse tracks showcasing sounds like reggae and funk, as well as a series of songs focused on instrumental jams. An instrumental side that somewhat overshadowed the vocal melodies led to the album being considered controversial and transitional, met with a degree of astonishment by some of their millions of fans. However, it would eventually achieve platinum sales, a well-deserved number one on the American charts, and number two in the British charts. The funky "Hot Stuff" opens this new release with a disco rhythm, while the classic Stones sound is present in "Hand of Fate". With the following track, "Cherry Oh Baby", they delve into other musical avenues, this time with reggae, ending the first side of the record with the vibrant and splendid jam "Memory Motel". The second side begins similarly with the jam "Hey Negrita", which, however, lacks the intensity of the previous track. To finish off this versatile and attractive album, there's the Stones-esque "Melody", the heartfelt ballad "Fool To Cry" and the swaggering rock 'n' roll "Crazy Mama".

The Rolling Stones-Blue And Lonesome (2016)

"Blue and Lonesome" is the only Rolling Stones album composed entirely of covers by artists other than themselves. This release, the band's twenty-third studio album, features twelve iconic blues tracks by legendary artists such as Memphis Slim, Howlin' Wolf, Buddy Johnson, Little Walter, Magic Slim, Willie Dixon, Otis Hicks, Jimmy Reed, and Eddie Taylor. In this compilation, the Stones strive to remain faithful to the original versions, while maintaining their characteristic flair and signature Stones sound. Eric Clapton's contribution is particularly noteworthy; he is sublime on slide guitar in the blues track "Everybody Knows About My Good Thing". With "Blue and Lonesome", the Stones wanted to pay a well-deserved tribute to their blues influences and roots throughout a long career spanning well over sixty years.

The Rolling Stones-Some Girls (1978)

The end of the 1970s was characterized by the explosion of new musical movements that drew a segment of the public to them, such as disco and new wave. Within this context, The Rolling Stones released one of the most varied albums of their entire career. "Some Girls" was preceded by a series of scandals involving their guitarist Keith Richards, who a year earlier had been accused of drug possession in Canada, and to top it all off, had a subsequent affair with Margaret Trudeau, the wife of Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau. Amidst all these scandals, Mick Jagger was the main songwriter for the new album, which reflects the singer's musical tastes at the time. Released in mid-1978, the album revolves around the super hit "Miss You", a funky, bluesy track that opens the album spectacularly, while still maintaining a quintessential Stones sound. The rest of the album comprises a vibrant and exceptional repertoire of outstanding tracks, such as the rock 'n' roll anthem "When The Whip Comes Down", followed by the incendiary "Lies" and "Respectables", two of the hardest-hitting songs on their entire discography. They also venture into soul with "Just My Imagination (Running Away With Me)", country with "Far Away Eyes", and the then-fashionable punk of "Shattered", concluding with the quintessential Stones ballad "Beast Of Burden". All of this demonstrates that intelligence and creativity remained hallmarks of the best rock and roll band on the planet. "Some Girls" achieved six platinum records in the United States alone and worldwide sales exceeding 8 million copies.
