Bon Jovi-7800º Fahrenheit (1985)

Considered a transitional yet decisive step, Bon Jovi's second album perfectly exemplifies their energetic heavy rock past and their future of melodic and infectious hard rock. Still exhibiting some creative inconsistency, this second release successfully blends catchy pop harmonies with powerful rock. Despite this evident lack of compositional maturity, it features notable tracks that would soon become favorites at their acclaimed concerts. The galloping "Tokyo Road" and the vibrant "In and Out of Love" already showcase the band's brilliance. Other songs like "The Hardest Part Is the Night" and "Only Lonely" acquire the appealing tone that would soon be seen on albums like "Slippery When Wet" a year later, while the powerful "The Price of Love" and "King of the Mountain" are a clear nod to the heavy metal style of their debut album.

Europe-The Final Countdown (1986)

Despite being criticized by the most radical and purist sectors of hard rock and heavy metal, Europe is one of the most important bands that European hard rock has produced.
After two albums of good quality but with very little commercial repercussion in 1986 they released "The Final Countdown", an album that became a worldwide success thanks in part to the mega hits "The Final Countdown" and the ballad "Carrie".
But the album is fed by other gems like the brutal "Rock the Night" or the tremendous "Cherokee" that make this album the best work of this spectacular Swedish band.

Motley Crue-Dr. Feelgood (1989)

Group without the need of presentation it goes without saying that the Mötley Crüe were one of the wildest bands of the rock and metal scene of the 80s. Maximum representative of all the glam metal paraphernalia of the Californian heavy. After Girls Girls Girls and the 80's about to end, they would publish their successful Dr Feelgood, produced by Bob Rock, is an exercise album of rock'n´roll, hard rock, high voltage glam rock.

Bon Jovi-Slippery When Wet (1986)

For many it was the best hard rock album of the 80s, especially because of the popularity that this album would generate, a statement perhaps exaggerated when checking the endless list of great albums that came out in that decade, but even so, this is undoubtedly the best work by one of the bands that best knew how to combine addictive songs with contagious refrains and great melodies, all with a plus of pop sound that made them tremendously popular.
"Slippery When Wet" is full of compositions with a spectacular commercial vein, highlighting above all of them "Livin'On A Prayer" and "You Give Love A Bad Name", two huge songs that were the creative pinnacle of Bon Jovi.
The rest maintained a very high level like the epic "Wanted Dead Or Alive", or the rock "Raise Your Hands" and "Wild In The Streets" where he showed the influence of his mentor Bruce Springsteen.

Europe-Europe (1983)

Three years before they rose to global fame with their acclaimed pop-metal-oriented album "The Final Countdown", the Swedish band Europe began their powerful awakening with their self-titled debut album released in 1983. Fueled by the jovial enthusiasm of singer Joey Tempest, the metallic riffs of guitarist John Norum, and the driving rhythm section comprised of John Leven and Tony Reno, on this first record, the group showcased a heavier side with a powerful repertoire of conventional heavy metal songs with neoclassical influences. Although still showing some compositional immaturity, this album already features some of their best tracks, such as the heavy metal anthems "In The Future To Come", "Farewell", "Children of This Time", and "Seven Doors Hotel". The latter brought them their first major success outside of Europe, becoming a massive hit in countries like Japan, while the hard blues track "The King Will Return", the exhilarating "Boyazont", and the powerful ballad "Words of Wisdom" completed one of the best European heavy metal debuts of the 1980s.

Dokken-Under Look And Key (1985)

Dokken were one of the pioneering glam metal bands, a genre that became one of the most successful and mainstream in the world during the 1980s. Formed in Los Angeles in 1976, the band was founded by vocalist Don Dokken, guitarist George Lynch, bassist Johan Croucier, and drummer Mick Brown. While their first album was a commercial failure, it was with their second release that the band began a meteoric rise, accumulating numerous hits worldwide and selling millions of records. However, while that second album, "Tooth and Nail", had paved the way for their success in Europe, they still had to break through in their own country, at a time when the glam metal movement was all the rage. And it was with "Under Lock and Key" that they finally achieved massive success and worldwide recognition, thanks to a spectacular album packed with pop-metal and hard-rock hooks like "The Hunter" and "In My Dreams", tear-jerking ballads like "Jaded Heart" and "Slippin' Away", and powerful heavy-metal tracks like "Lightnin' Strikes Again", "It's Not Love", and "Till the Livin' End". With this third album, Dokken's well-oiled machine continued to produce a steady stream of gems that would pave the way for their absolute success throughout the rest of the 1980s.
