After the album "Leftoverture" Kansas had reached the cusp of their creative and successful peak, but nevertheless this pressure would lead them to be somewhat anxious to repeat the feat with an album of similar characteristics.
Their next work entitled "Point of Know Return" not only kept them on that track of success, but also reinforced it, surpassing the previous work, both on a compositional and commercial level.
His single "Dust in the Wind", an acoustic and dusty ballad, would become his most emblematic song and even today it is broadcast on almost all radio stations around the world.
However, the simple and delicate beauty of this piece is not at all representative of the unmistakable style of the band, since its symphonic style, full of pompous sounds of keyboard textures, with powerful presences of guitars and violin and a powerful rhythmic section is the general tone of this and all his albums.
All the songs on this impressive album would become classics in his repertoire, from the commercial "Point Of Know Return" to the epic "Closet Chronicles" and "Nobody's Home" to elegant progressive rock exercises like "The Spider." or "Paradox" or pure rock songs like "Lightning's Hand" or "Sparks of the Tempest".
