In 1984 Rush published one of his most extraordinary works of his entire career, which however would go unnoticed by many fans of progressive rock.
"Grace Under Pressure" is an album that is ahead of its time, showing the enormous creativity of the trio, sustained by the intellect and the multiple readings of its drummer and lyricist Neil Peart.
An album that without becoming a concept, runs through apocalyptic journeys, fears and hopes and above all future technologies that bounce back towards the human being, all carried musically by jazzy, rock and especially futuristic passages.
Alex Lifeson's guitars seem to take a backseat in favor of synthesizers, but it's just an appreciation, because really the guitar work is simply exceptional with arabesque solos and elaborate riffs and structures.
The entire album is a true masterpiece with jewels like the spectacular "Distant Early Warning", the energetic "Red Sector A", the dynamic "Kid Gloves" or the excellent "Red Lenses".
Even today this album has an extraordinary validity, a unique work, essential for all lovers of good rock and progressive rock in particular.
