In 1985 Sting had decided to start his solo career outside of The Police and would debut with the album "The Dream of the Blue Turtles", an exercise in pop and jazz that was a magnificent work with superb compositions such as "If You Love Somebody Set Them Free" or "Russians".
Two years after this magnificent album Sting would return with his perhaps best album in his solo career "Nothing Like The Sun", a double album where the British musician offered many more musical formulas such as soul, reggae and rock but with that characteristic jazzy essence in his personal style.
With this new album Sting manages to establish his solo career by experimenting and merging all those styles creating brilliant and addictive compositions such as "Englishman in New York", the beautiful "The Lazarus Heart", the delicate "Fragile", the extensive "They Dance Alone" or a memorable version of Jimi Hendrix's song "Little Wing" in jazz key.
In addition, as it had already happened on his first album, Sting would surround himself with great musicians to perform the songs of this magnificent work, among which Eric Clapton, Mark Knopfler, Andy Summers, Manu Katche and Annie Lennox stood out among many others.
