Dire Straits-"Brothers in Arms" (1985)

With "Brothers in Arms" Dire Straits achieved their masterpiece as well as their greatest commercial success, however it would also be the beginning of the end, from this album Mark Knopfler decides to focus on his solo projects and finally dissolves the band several years later, although he would reactivate her for several minor jobs in the 1990s.
In "Brothers in Arms" the band achieves its most elaborate work, with different variants without having to depend exclusively on Mark Knopfler's guitar, in addition to a varied style and an impeccable production, where they stand out in addition to the song that gives title to the album, "Why Whorry", "Your Latest Trick", "Money For Nothing", "Walk of Life" or "So Far Away".
Although Knopfler's characteristic guitar sound does not stand out as in previous albums, here the music is much more homogeneous and melodically forceful, making this work one of the masterpieces of the eighties.
