In the first half of the 1970s, Van Morrison was in his prime as a performer, he had recorded a series of anthology albums and in 1973 he embarked on a world tour accompanied by his band, The Caledonian Soul Orchestra.
From that tour a series of songs were taken that completed the live double "It's Too Late To Stop Now" that was published at the beginning of 1974.
For this tour, in addition to their usual musicians, a string section was included to provide much more consistency and variety to their repertoire, as demonstrated in "Here Comes The Night", which ends up being a totally different version from the one originally recorded by Them in 1965.
The repertoire was composed of songs from his latest albums such as "Moondance", "Saint Dominic's Preview" or "Hard Nose The Highway", and yet none of the pieces from his most acclaimed album "Tupelo Honey" were included by I express that of Morrison himself who wanted a genuinely straightforward album with no songs with too many arrangements.
Years later, Van Morrison himself recognized that this album is his masterpiece and for many this is one of the essential live stunts in rock history.
