"For Girls Who Grow Plump In The Night" was the fifth album by the Canterbury sound band Caravan, released in 1973, which marked a change in the musical essence of the group.
Here they bet on a fresher and more melodic sound, which although it seems somewhat more linear in the background contains a great quality in terms of composition, with melodic vocal games and changes of very well structured and balanced instrumental rhythms.
An album that contains a beat and folk rock sound with constant rhythm changes, magnificent guitars and great keyboards, in addition to using other instruments not common in a rock band, such as the viola, highlighting songs such as the powerful "Memory Lain, Hugh / Headloss", the funny "Hoedown", the dense "C´Thlu Thlu" or the emotional "L'Auberge du Sanglier / A Hunting We Shall Go / Pengola / Backwards / A Hunting We Shall Go (Reprise)".
