John Lee Hooker was named as the greatest blues musician in history, with a career spanning more than one hundred published records and more than half a century of career, however it would not be until he was 70 years old when he would gain his greatest popularity.
In 1948 he would publish his first song "Boogie Chillen" with which he was known throughout the United States.
From here John Lee Hooker would not stop publishing very popular recordings that even had a lot of impact on the charts of the time.
But it would not be until the late 70s when his popularity would reach extraordinary heights when appearing in the films "The Last Waltz" and "The Blues Brothers".
Years later he would publish his most acclaimed album "The Healer", where he had the participation of Carlos Santana, George Thorogood, Charlie Musselwhite, Bonnie Raitt or Robert Cray.
With this album John Lee Hooker would win his first and only Grammy award, something that had been denied him in the sixties and seventies.
"The Healer" is one of the essential albums for all blues lovers, with a series of compositions of the highest level such as "Think Twice You Go", "Rockin´Chair" or "No Substitute".
