The third album of the Electric Light Orchestra "On the Third Day" is considered one of his closest works to the progressive rock of the band, however, unlike his first two works, the format of songs decreases in duration with complex arrangements where the Moog has an essential role.
Jeff Lynne recreated the orchestral sound in the studio by doubling the audio tracks for cello and violin solos in a laborious and elaborate process.
