Status Quo-Whatever You Want (1979)

Status Quo were frequently looked down upon and even ridiculed for their simple, four-chord boogie rock, which drew considerable criticism from a large portion of the conservative and intolerant British music press of the 1970s. However, making this lighthearted style suitable for mass consumption has been the singular aim of this legendary band, which has gone on to create some of the greatest albums in the history of rock music.
Albums like “Dog Of Two Heads” (1971), “Piledriver” (1973), “Rockin’ All Over The World” (1977), and “If You Can’t Stand The Heat” (1978) earned them a place among the great bands of the 1970s.
In 1979, Status Quo released their twelfth studio album, “Whatever You Want”, which, in addition to the infectious title track one of their most memorable hits featured the band experimenting with new ideas in prodigious compositions such as “Living On An Island”, “Who Asked You”, “Come Rock With Me”, “High Flyer”, and “Breaking Away”.
With this brilliant album, Status Quo continued to secure their privileged position among the leading British bands, maintaining a consistent presence on the charts worldwide and retaining their undiminished and respectable credibility among their millions of fans.
