The cult band par excellence, the Frijid Pink, will pass as one of the best North American bands born in Detroit.
The group began under the name of "The Detroit Vibrations" in 1.967. Its sound evolved from garage rock to psychedelic, hard boogie or even stronger trends. In 69 they signed their first record deal and recorded several singles one of which "The House of the Rising Sun" reached number one on the American charts. In 1970 they recorded their first LP and managed to perform at numerous festivals with people like MC5, Bob Seger, etc. At the end of that year they publish their second long duration "Defrosted" with a much harder rock sound, but they do not get the desired sales and the first changes in their formation occur. With their third album "Earth Omen" they fail to trace the flight and in 1975 they signed their latest publication "All Pink Inside". Their first album opens curiously with a ballad "God Gave me You", the second cut "Crying Shame" we remember Cream, like "Tell me Why" or "Get Drunk Before I get Old." In other themes we can find sounds similar to Steppenwolf and of course the album is marked by the success "The House Of The Rising Sun". The CD reissue includes bonus tracks including a version of "Heartbreak Hotel" by Elvis Presley.
