By the time Magnum published the Vigilante album in 1986 they abandoned virtually all of the progressive elements of the previous works and focused on the direct AOR of fresh and catchy melodies. It was recorded at the legendary Montreux Mountain Studios and produced by Roger Taylor (Queen) and David Richards. Mark Stanway's keyboards become the main protagonists, since in the mix, his instrument has been enhanced to the detriment of Clarkin's guitars, however, the compositions are very well built and have an indisputable hook. Outstanding titles such as "Lonely Nights", one of his singles, the ballad "Need A Lot Of Love", the halftime "Midnight (You Won't Be Sleeping)" and the fantastic song of the same name.
