The Grunge as a musical current emerged in the late eighties and early nineties in the city of Seattle in the state of Washington.
Its sound is unmistakable with distorted, aggressive and wild guitars with depressive but at the same time intense tones that are repeated in the different bands. An alternative sound with strong bases and influences of Punk Rock and Hard rock, plus other extra additives such as they are the torn voices that convey a lot of emotional charge in their songs, where you can perceive that atmosphere of regret and disagreement so characteristic of the X generation. Grunge can be considered as a subgenre of modern rock and one of the edges of the alternative movement in general.
One of his leading bands were Nirvana, and his album Nevermind a whole event. It is with this work where Nirvana finally jumps to stardom and leaves the way free for the incursion of many other bands of the genre.
It is "Nevermind" in my opinion with the "Ten" of Pearl Jam and the "Dirt" of Alice In Chains the iconic records of all this movement.
It is without doubt the most symbolic grunge album of the 90's, distilling rebellion and anger in a world that by those years was very revolutionized.
