Jean-Luc Ponty-Enigmatic Ocean (1977)

When Jean Luc Ponty published his fourth album "Enigmatic Ocean" his career was so consolidated that his collaborations with other artists and other bands barely gave a break to be able to publish alone.
Although his germinal style was jazz rock, Ponty always bet on more progressive and experimental sounds, in fact his works with Frank Zappa or the Mahavishnu Orchestra are partly his compositions.
His virtuosity and great creativity are present in most of his record productions, and Enigmatic Ocean is no exception. This particular album has two exceptional guitarists such as Allan Holdsworth and Daryl Stuermer, who undoubtedly influenced the final result of a job with a lot of virtuosity, progressive melodic passages and certain dose of funk thanks to the keyboards of allan Zavod.

An album that is considered a masterpiece both for its dynamism, virtuosity, originality, the fantastic balance in the participation of each instrument and the sound diversity it offers, ranging from environmental to energetic.
