In 1980 Hawkwind released his tenth album "Levitation" where he included Ginger Baker as an official member of the band as drummer and also Tim Blake's first from Gong as keyboard player.
Levitation is one of the best works by Hawkwind, with a very balanced sound and a wide variety of instruments that enrich his instrumental palette, with abundant contrasts between heavy guitars and lighter and more spacey synthesizers giving the touch to his unmistakable space rock.
This would also be one of the first albums in history to be recorded entirely digitally.
