Amon Düül II-Yeti (1970)

Yeti, was the second album of Amon Düül II and probably his top work, a disc where long themes and improvisation predominate, Amon Düül thus fulfills one of the characteristics of this early stage of Germanic rock. We must understand this tendency to improvisation as a way of 'attacking' the Anglo-Saxon musical establishment. It must also be said that in subsequent albums they would leave this trend. As I mentioned earlier, mysticism is dominant in his work and, above all, in his first two albums: Phallus Dei and Yeti. The latter is simply brutal and a must-listen work for everyone who loves progressive rock. Although I personally love other albums of them like his great Wolf City, I must admit that Yeti is the pure essence of German rock and an example of what moved in 1970 through Germany.

Complicated music, mystical theme (although far from Popol Vuh) and tenebrism that combine to give rise to Yeti, a masterpiece.
