The Mamas and The Papas are one of the most iconic bands in the world of pop, with some of the most memorable songs that are remembered as "California Dream", "Monday Monday" or "I Saw Her Again".
Emerging from the world of folk, in the mid-60s, one of its components, John Phillips had participated in a successful band called The Journeyman, which would join Denny Doherty of the folk group The Colonials, the singer Mama Cass and the Phillips wife Michelle Phillips.
This group was active from 1966 to 1971, publishing 5 albums, of which 3 would enter the top 20 of the British and North American charts, they would even get two absolute numbers.
But it is undoubtedly their first album "If You Can Believe Your Eyes And Ears", their best work where the band showed great songs full of emotion, with different melodies along with the rhythm changes that print in their refrains developing subtle songs that they became hymns of the hippie generation of the 60s.
