In 1974 Ritchie Blackmore ends up getting fed up with the musical disagreements with his Deep Purple companions and chooses to leave the band and continue on his own, founding a few months later his new group which he calls; Rainbow, with whom he would publish eight albums, some of them the most memorable in the history of hard rock and heavy metal.
"Long Live Rock´n´Roll" was the band's third album released in 1978 and a worthy successor to the fantastic predecessor "Rising".
This would be Ronnie James Dio's last album as a vocalist, as a consequence of different musical criteria with Ritchie Blackmore.
Equally here we would already participate neither the keyboardist Tony Carey, nor the bassist Jimmy Bain who were replaced by David Stone and Bob Daisley, keyboardist and bassist respectively.
"Long Live Rock´n´Roll" is next to mentioned "Rising" the two best works of Rainbow, with this new album the band reached the total sublimation and Dio became the heavy metal singer par excellence.
A sensational job where the whole band made the most of all their resources, getting generational hymns, such as the title track of the album, or powerful songs like "Kill The King", or fantastic ballads like "Rainbow Eyes".
A true masterpiece of heavy metal and hard rock.
