Various Artists-Guitar Battle (1997)

In the mid-90s the guitarist Al Pitrelli was immersed in different projects, among others he collaborated with the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, in parallel also with the Savatage group, and he came from having belonged to bands such as Asia, Danger Danger or Widowmaker among others.
In 1997 he leads the project called "Guitar Battle" where he brings together a luxurious team of great guitarists; Andy Timmons, Brad Gillis, George Lynch, John Petrucci, Michael Lee Firkins, Reb Beach, and Steve Morse, plus bassist Danny Miranda and drummer John O. Reilly.
With this incredible roster of great stars he publishes the album titled "Guitar Battle", where they review some rock and jazz classics.
Here we can find impressive versions performed by each and every one of the musicians such as the classic "Train Kept A-Rollin", "Something" by The Beatles, "Memphis" by Chuck Berry, "Purple Rain" by Prince or "Birdland" by the Weather Report, in addition to a composition by Al Pitrelli himself "Mambo King", which is perhaps the weakest track on the album.
An album where the skill, the masterful work of so many guitar masters together, the individual talent of each one of them, and that kind of jam that comes from all those guitar styles, make it something never seen before; get such a collection of great guitarists in a single album.
