Khan-Space Shanty (1972)

Khan is still one of the bands of the so-called Canterbury sound that is most unknown to the general public at present and unfairly they are never included among the major bands of the genre.
Founded by guitarist Steve Hillage and keyboard player Dave Stewart, his contribution to progressive rock was essential in the early 1970s.
With a single recorded album (Space Shanty, 1972), the group (in addition to the founders was formed by bassist Nick Greenwood and drummer Eric Peachy), they would make a record with a very light-dark sound with many textures ranging from melodious rock to harder sounds, all with a psychedelic and hippie flavor.
However, although as I have said before today they are quite forgotten, at the time the album was very well received by fans of the Canterbury sound
Throughout the album Hillage's great guitar and Stewart's Hammond organ stand out.

Several years later Steve Hillage would publish Fish Rising (1975) which is considered as the logical continuation of this album.
