Golden Earring-Moontan (1973)

Formed in the mid-1960s under the label of basic pop-rock with beat elements, Golden Earring is one of the most important Dutch bands of all time. Over the years, they evolved towards a progressive hard rock style, and throughout much of the following decade, they released a series of albums that achieved worldwide success and are now considered cult classics within rock music.
In 1973, this legendary band released their ninth album, "Moontan", which not only solidified their universal success but also became their masterpiece.
This progression, already established with their previous albums "Golden Earring" (1970), "Seven Tears" (1971), and "Together" (1972), culminated in "Moontan". Besides the iconic song "Radar Love", a true rock classic, the album features a masterful blend of hard rock, blues, and progressive sounds with astonishing instrumental developments. Aside from the aforementioned “Radar Love”, this album features irresistible tracks like the visceral and psychedelic “Candy’s Going Bad”, the progressive “Are You Receiving Me”, and the hypnotic “The Vanilla Queen”, while pop-rock melodies with sumptuous arrangements appear in the commendable “Suzy Lunacy” and “Just Like Vince Taylor”.
A gold record and nearly a million copies sold between the LP and the “Radar Love” single attest to this phenomenal album by the legendary Golden Earring.
