Guess Who-American Woman (1970)

The sixth album by The Guess Who released in 1970 became their most successful album in the United States, reaching ninth place on the "Billboard Pop Albums" list, remaining for more than a year, and also their first Top Ten in that country.
It contains the superclassic that gives its name to the album "American Woman", a song that has been covered by many groups.
Created in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, they were one of the first Canadian bands to establish significant success in their own country and abroad in the late 1960s and early 1970s. They were also the first Canadian rock group to be successful. No. 1 in the United States.
The album, however, was not up to the level of its two predecessor albums, but no one seemed to take that into account given the sheer brilliance of the single. As is often the case, Americans adopted the song even though it consisted of a tremendous barrage against their way of life, embodied in American women.
"American Woman" is one of the best known rock riffs in rock history and the most famous song by this mythical band.
