Canned Heat were one, if not the best, Blues-Boogie band ever, led by the great voice "Bob Hite-The Bear" (The Bear, due to his physical appearance and body fat) and the depressing minimalist virtuoso "Alan Wilson- Blind Owl" (blind owl, due to his great lack of sight and large glasses).
Canned Heat were a band that truly marked a before and after in the evolution of the genre that we must remember that it was stagnant in the mid-sixties, and thanks to musicians like Bob and Alan they managed to regenerate again strongly the authorship of the great bluesman forgotten, and they marked a chair not only for their ability to interpret, but for their superiority over others in adapting the genre and merging it with the more "electric lysergic" and sometimes with the stubborn "acoustic-minimalist" virtuosity,
Canned Heat were formed in 1965, when "Alan and Bob" met in Los Angeles in 1965, in a record store, specifically in the Jazz-blues section, both were fans of the genre, (it is known that the Bear, owned a huge room full of vinyl, Eps and 45 rpm singles from Boogie, which he collected little by little until his death in 1981).
In 1967, they recorded their third album on the "Liberty" label and in 1968 it was released under the title "Boogie with Canned Heat" produced by "Skip Taylor", releasing the single "On the Road Again" by Floyd Jones "as a hit of the album, within a few months it was already number one in sales and in many countries, being a worldwide success and a true Blues-Boogie and Rock classic.
