Steve Miller is one of the great North American musicians, who during the sixties was tanning blues classics such as "Howlin´Wolf" or "Muddy Waters" in Chicago.
In 1966 Steve Miller settled in San Francisco attracted by the emerging hippy movement and that same year he would form the Steve Miller Band.
Steve Miller had a very complete talent, with a refined technique and a great knowledge in the roots of North American music, so he had enough quality to become one of the figures of the moment.
After some first quality records that did not achieve the desired success in 1973, however, he achieved his first success with the album "The Joker", which would be followed three years later by other massive success such as "Fly Like an Eagle" and the next year "Book of Dreams".
These last three works contain some of the most recognized songs in the history of pop-rock music like "Take The Money and Run", "Rock´n Me", "Fly Like An Eagle", "Jet Airliner", "Jungle Love", or "Swingtown", all of them would appear in the compilation "Greatest Hits 1974-1978" that in 1978 Capitol Records released taking advantage of the great moment of form of the band.
This album would become one of the best-selling compilations in history, with more than 17 million copies around the world and a masterful collection of emblematic themes.
