Birth Control-Hoodoo Man (1972)

With their third album, Birth Control perfected their classic psychedelic hard rock sound. Beneath a controversial cover, "Hoodoo Man" showcases Birth Control at their peak, brimming with frenetic rhythms and a heavy, fiery hard rock driven by Bruno Frenzel's blistering guitars and Wolfgang Neuser's galloping Hammond organ. The Birth Control lineup for this release was completed by bassist Bernd Koschmidder and drummer Bernd Noske, while session musicians such as George Mac Knickerick, Peter Föller, Peter Engelhardt, Sascha Kühn, Cyborg Haines, and Sascha Delbrouck contributed to the recording. Tracks like the crushing "Get Down to Your Face", the exhilarating "Gamma Ray", the powerful "Buy Us", and the semi-progressive "Suicide" place this album at the pinnacle of this formidable German band's career.
