The Lords Of The New Church-The Method To Our Madness (1984)

Formed in the early 1980s, The Lords of the New Church was a sort of Anglo-American punk rock supergroup. Their lineup consisted of Dead Boys singer Stiv Bators, The Damned guitarist Brian James, Sham 69 bassist Dave Tregunna, and The Barracudas drummer Nick Turner. They showcased a style influenced by their punk/hardcore roots, blending punk energy with garage, gothic rock, and hard rock sounds. Their melodic songs and catchy choruses set them apart from the mainstream punk rock of the time. The Lords released only three albums during their eight years of activity, not counting live albums and compilations. These three albums were "The Lords of the New Church" (1982), "Is Nothing Sacred?" (1983) and "The Method To Our Madness" (1984), are fundamental works to understand the evolution of punk and gothic rock in the 80s.
