With cover art that pays homage to their 1982 debut album, the third release from the reformed original lineup is titled "XXX", a clear reference to the band's thirtieth anniversary. On this eleventh album under the Asia name, the group continues to showcase the classic rock sound with melodic rock influences characteristic of almost all their previous releases, all underpinned by excellent production, exquisite melodic compositions, and refined instrumentation. Despite the progressive rock reputation of its four members (Wetton, Howe, Palmer, and Downes), it's clear that the symphonic tendencies of the past have given way to a tighter, more solid, and understated sound, moving between catchy and appealing rock and refined sounds with complex and virtuosic instrumentation. That irresistible hook of catchy sounds intertwined with a powerful force is reflected in "No Religion" and "Al Gatto Nero", which are compensated by the heavier and more unsettling "Ghost Of A Change" or "Bury Me In Willow" and by the melodic and brilliant "I Know How You Feel", "Tomorrow The World" and "Face On The Bridge".
