Genesis-Duke (1980)

After two melodic and emotional albums ("Wind & Wuthering" and "...And Then There Were Three..."), Genesis, now a trio with Phil Collins, Tony Banks, and Mike Rutherford, released their tenth album, "Duke", in the early 1980s. This new record retained the earlier progressive elements, but this time in a rather subtle way, as sophisticated pop underpinned much of the sound. From the semi-progressive "Behind the Lines", "Duchess" or "Guide Vocal", to the addictive pop "Turn It on Again" and "Misunderstanding", passing through the melancholic "Heathaze", the rocker "Man Of Out Times" or the tour de force composed of "Duke's Travels" and "Duke's End", they make up an album that without reaching the excellences of their previous works, showed the musical change that the time required, in years where the most avant-garde rock was at its lowest point.
