Sky-Sky (1979)

In the late 1970s, almost as the most glorious era of progressives was drawing to a close, there were still ambitious concerns on the minds of many musicians.
This is how a super band called SKY would be formed, based on an idea of very experienced musicians like the old Curved Air; Francis Monkman, the 1,000-battle-hardened bassist Herbie Flowers or the seasoned and renowned session musician John Williams.
The original idea was to fuse rock with the baroque and romantic academy, the avant-garde, touches of jazz and the sensible flavor of pop.
The final work was translated into very elegant music, executed with great skill and at the same time accessible.
His first album does not match the creativity of his next two works, but nevertheless it is an exquisite work that perfectly meets the standards of the most demanding fans of the progressive rock.
