Utopia-Todd Rundgren´s Utopia (1974)

The debut of Todd Rundgren's band parallel to his solo career was called Utopia (at that time there were two bands with the same name, this one and the other German) and his first album Todd Rundgren's Utopia is considered his best work.
This band had the peculiarity of having three keyboardists, something unusual even for a progressive rock band.
In this first work the sound of jazz fusion and progressive rock of the highest level predominates and consists of only four compositions, some of them of very long duration such as "Utopia Theme" of 14 minutes or the suite "The Ikon" that occupied the entire face B of the album with a duration of 30 minutes.
In this album Rundgren's great skills as a recording engineer were shown, recording more than 30 minutes for each side of the album, something also unusual at that time.
